October Round-Up: Book Launches, Half-Term Chaos & Pub Discoveries
October has been a whirlwind! Equal parts exhausting, rewarding, and slightly chaotic (as all the best months are).
The biggest milestone was finally releasing The Litigant’s Guide to Family Court. This one was a labour of love (and frustration), and caffeine but I’m incredibly proud of it. Out of my two books, it was definitely the hardest to write. The family court process is so outdated and complicated, I wanted to create something that genuinely helps people feel a little more in control when they’re thrown into the web of it all. If it helps even one person feel less overwhelmed, it’ll all have been worth it.
Of course, life doesn’t pause just because you release a book. The kids were off for half term (gawd help us all), which meant the usual scramble to find things to keep the small ones entertained before they turned the house into a soft play war zone. I think we all deserve a medal for surviving it with only minor toy related injuries.
On the grown up side of life, Adam and I have been sticking to our bi weekly date night rule (our little sanity saver). We tried a new local pub, ‘The White Heart’ in Swaffam, Norfolk, and oh my, the food was incredible. If you’re local, go. Seriously. Highly recommend!
Now it’s back to writing, plotting, and probably too much coffee but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Here’s to a calmer (maybe?) November.
Much love, Jodie
